If You Say So - To Your Spouse, Pt 1
on September 22nd, 2021
Will Huddleston - This past Sunday, Pastor continued the series "If You Say So". I want to personally thank Matt Graves for aligning the sermon regarding communication in marriage with the week I was up on the schedule. I mean, you just pitched an easy one right over the plate for me pastor...an easy topic to discuss. I say that tongue in cheek of course. It isn't that I'm afraid of the topic...rather, it can be such a weighty topic as it concerns something that can change our homes, family, community, and world around us.  Read More

If You Say So - To Yourself
on September 15th, 2021
Randy Murray - In this series, "If You Say So," Pastor Matt will be covering the power of our words, both written and spoken. He will also look at the source of those words and how they affect relationships with our spouses, children, and those around us. Most importantly, each week, he will bring us back to God's Word and what it says concerning us as believers and our interactions with other believers, be they family or friends. This week we began with the power of the tongue and how words we have spoken or have had spoken to us can become a permanent part of our memory, sometimes affecting relationships and even our behavior forever.  Read More

Walk This Way - In Good Works
on September 8th, 2021
Stacy Warner - "Good works are not opposite of Grace. Good works are a result of Grace." -Matt Graves This saying is worthy of memorizing. If we can comprehend this quote's deep yet simple meaning, our spiritual walk cannot help but be impacted and changed forever. I have always been somewhat of a railfan. You know, people who like trains. Ever since my Grandmother took me to the train yard to watch trains when I was 6 or 7, I have loved them. It remains one of my most cherished memories of her.  Read More

Walk This Way - In Power
on September 1st, 2021
Matt Graves - I want to expand on that a little and look at the importance of being strong in strength of His might. We have an adversary, the devil, who is working through his rulers and powers and forces of darkness and forces of wickedness to try and wreck havoc in our lives. I loved the analogy Andrew used of the trick play in a football game. The reason trick plays work is because they catch you off guard, and you’re not expecting them. Our enemy wants to do just that, to catch us by surprise and find a way to destroy our lives. We are called to not be ignorant to his schemes. We should be alert and aware of the battle we find ourselves in. But we also need to know that we have been given everything we need to stand firm in that battle.  Read More

Walk This Way - In Contentment
on August 25th, 2021
Kale Magness - If our contentment is misplaced, with our reliance on anything other than on “Him who gives me strength”, we will get a skewed understanding of our rest, our joy, our acceptance, our peace, and our patience, just to name a few. A misplaced understanding in which, if our response to any challenge to these aspects of life is anything other than reliance on ”Him who gives me strength”, will bring discontentment. This is a favorite tool of our enemy. Don’t be fooled by it.  Read More

Walk This Way - In the Light
on August 18th, 2021
Chris Williams - The only way to know the truth is through the study of the scripture. Don't take someone else’s word for what the Bible says, search the scripture for yourself. I encourage you, if you aren’t already, read and study the scripture for yourself and trust the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and reveal the truths of the Bible to you. Then you will be able to do more than rest, you’ll be able to stand firm in what you believe and walk it out as a child of Light. “Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.”‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:6-8‬  Read More
