Candy grew up in and around Atlanta, GA, with five brothers, two sisters, and her parents. She attended Georgia State University after high school until the Lord led her into New Tribes Mission (now called Ethnos 360). She was with New Tribes Mission for ten years (including her three years of training) serving in the Philippines. Towards the end of her second term, the Lord worked in her heart about returning home for good. Within a year of returning, she met and married her husband Don. They have three grown children, Christopher (married to Kim Autrey—from Texarkana), Michael, and Lynn. Candy and her family moved to the Texarkana area in 2005. She went back to college and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Texas A&M-Texarkana in 2014.
Candy has always been involved in serving in her church. She has served as a Sunday School teacher from Bed Babies all the way through Tenth Grade, but mainly in the elementary grades. She currently is a volunteer in Kid City and on the Media Team (helping in her husband’s ministry). She is excited to increase her ministry to include being Heritage’s Receptionist.
