“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20
I don’t know about you, but this is something I used to really struggle with. I trusted God for my salvation and eternal security, but I had my doubts when it came to my daily walk; particularly, the strength of “my” faith. Is it enough? How do I know? As believers, if we have to measure the level of our faith, what’s the litmus test? How can we be bold in our walk if we aren’t sure how our faith measures up at any given moment? Fortunately, when you put your faith in Christ, He is the litmus test! You see, “the life we now live in the flesh, we live by the faith OF the Son of God!” It’s His faith we can count on. In those times that we feel we lack faith, Christ is faithful! Even when we are in a season of life that we feel we don’t have the right words to pray, the Spirit intercedes on our behalf (Rom. 8:26). He will sustain us and He is faithful (1 Cor. 1:8-9). Great news! As believers, we get to rest in the finished work of Christ, both for our eternal security and for life here and now. Yes, in this world we will face difficult circumstances, but we can rest in the fact it’s not “I”, but Christ. His grace is sufficient!
